Last London day with Anna has arrived, and we decided to take full advantage of it. While we had a small breakfast at home, we stopped by one of my favourite local bakeries, Stamford Larder. We tried their millionaire bar, and it was to die for…shortbread, caramel and chocolate. Most definitely something I would like to bake one day.
From Chiswick we made way to Marylebone, where we planned to visit the Wallace Collection – the gallery home to one of Europe’s finest collections of works of art, paintings, furniture, armour and porcelain. We spent hours in the beautiful galleries, and both found favourite pieces in all the different rooms.
I don’t know about the general public, but museums make me hungry. On top of it, true to London style, it started to rain. We rushed to have lunch at Honest Burger. I’m pretty sure they have the best chicken burgers, and the most amazing rosemary fries in London! This dish is affordable, although a smaller serving, but perfect for girls like us.
Despite the rain, we walked around Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus for a little bit, before heading into Fortnum & Mason for a short visit. We tried on fancy fascinators, admired their colourful appliances, and even tried some sweets in their parlour.
A fun day, ending by Thames as we visited the friendly swans, geese, and ducks of the area. These two weeks with my little visitor flew by, but we both had an amazing time exploring the city together.
