Clerkenwell and the Borough

I think hands down we can both agree we had one of the most wonderful days in the city!

Our day started out in Clerkenwell, a small area in Central London that has also historically been known as Little Italy in the past. As well, it used to be the industrial heartland of London. Now, most of these warehouses and factories are home to design agencies and exclusive bars and restaurants. We even tested a few of these as we walked along Exmouth market, a street offering unique and hand crafted goods. Just to warm up, we splurged on two nice cocktails at the wonderful Cafe Pistou. This quaint French brasserie had the best spicy Bloody Mary and La Sangria Rose. Would also be a beautiful brunch spot if we are to return in the future.

We spent the whole day exploring beautiful side streets as we headed towards the Borough. As we approached our favourite market, we could smell the deliciousness in the air. This renowned food market is truly a source for exceptional British and international produce. We had the pulled pork baguette after lining up for 15 minutes but it was well worth the wait. Topped with sour kraut and bbq sauce, I only had room for dessert after. And sweet boyfriend immediately surprised me with a delicious come of gelato. Has to be the best ice cream in town. Such a wonderful day with a wonderful person in a wonderful area.
