Eagerly we awaited the arrival of Sunday, as our plan was to explore one of the largest museums in London, the Victoria and Albert located in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It’s acclaimed as the world’s top museum in design and art, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. It was founded in the mid 1800’s and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The collection consist of 5000 years of art, from the cultures of Europe, Asia, North America and North Aftica. The galleries feature everything from sculpture, ceramics, paintings, photography, ironwork, furniture and everything in between. They even have sketching stools visitors can borrow to use for the day! I definitely plan on coming back for further explorations and maybe some sketching!
Our dinner at the Polish Restaurant Ognisko was perfect after a day at the museum. The drinks were a bit too strong, but the Kiev chicken and Pavlova was to die for.
